Intimate NYC Wedding Venues Under $5,000

While you may think it’s impossible to find a New York wedding venue that’s actually affordable, I’m here to tell you that’s not the case! It can be difficult to sift through the depths of the internet, so I put together a list of some of my favorites. For those ready to get on with your venue hunt, read on for a list of affordable NYC wedding venues with rental fees under $5,000 for your intimate wedding.

1. The Merchant’s House

If you’re looking for a garden party in the middle of the city, the Merchant’s House Museum is for you. There is indoor space should you need a rain plan, but the garden courtyard is what really shines. This venue is best for groups under 40 people.

Cost - $3,500 (up to 3 hours)

2. Prospect Park Picnic House

For those of you looking for a super Brooklyn affair, the Prospect Park Picnic House could be a great option. The space is fully heated so if you’re worried about a winter wedding, you can cross that off your list.

Cost - $3,000 - $6,500 (depends on time of year and day of week)

3. The Dumbo Loft

This is the kind of space you can really get creative with as far as decor. It’s got an industrial rustic vibe with high ceilings and wood beams, but otherwise, it’s a blank slate!

Cost - $3,000 - $5,000 (depending on day of the week)

4. Brooklyn Grange

If you have under 75 people and are looking to skip the dancing, this stunning, farm to table rooftop could be perfect for you.

Cost - $5,000 (ceremony and cocktail reception only)

5. Freeman’s

If vintagey, eclectic decor Is calling your name, Freeman’s might be the answer. There are multiple rooms for different size groups, including the option of renting the entire second floor for up to 70 people.

Cost - $90pp for food (if you are simply renting one room, there are no rental fees on top of food and beverage)

6. Refinery Hotel Rooftop

Thinking of forgoing a seated meal and just doing a cocktail reception? The open bar and passed hors d’oeuvres package is pretty great, especially if you’re planning on an intimate group.

Cost - $180 per person

7. Queens Botanical Garden

Calling all nature lovers! While it might not be as well knowns as the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, this venue is every bit as stunning.

Cost - $2,500 rental fee

8. Maison May

If you’re envisioning a homey wedding but can’t host it in your own, Maison May is the perfect alternative. You have the option of renting the cafe or the brownstone space for a little slice of Brooklyn for the evening.

Cost - $1,200 - $4,200 (depending on day of the week)

9. Norwood Club

The non-traditional decor on different floors of this space give it a stand-out, unique feel. You can mix and match floors, or stick to one to keep your costs down.

Cost - $3,500 - $7,000 (combination of room rental fees and f&b minimums, depend on the floor)

10. The Fire Museum

You’ve got to be interested in incorporating red into your wedding scheme, but if you’re up for it, the Fire Museum should definitely be considered.

Cost - $3,500

11. Little Owl Townhouse

Built in 1910 and renovated by famed architect S.R. Gambrel, this awesome West Village townhouse is the perfect spot for a small group, especially if you’re foodies.

Cost - $5,000 rental fee (up to 10 people) + F&B
